Jen Wang

Co-President

Hi, all! I'm excited to be returning for my second year as ACO President. Last year, we were hit hard by the Eaton Fire, and in the time that followed, I fell in love with our community all over again as I got to see its kindness, ingenuity, and care in action. I love working on ACO things because I love meeting the wonderful people who attend, work, and volunteer at Aveson, and because it's so satisfying (especially these days) to work to change things for the better and see the results of that work close to home.

I have three fabulous kids who attend ASL and AGLA, and outside the ACO, I'm a classical composer who loves all kinds of textile and fiber arts as hobbies: knitting, crochet, weaving, embroidery, dyeing, you name it. I sing with the Pasadena Chorale and play clawhammer banjo. Talk to me if you want to start an Aveson craft hang!

Xochitl Ureña

Vice President

I’m the mom of two AGLA students—Ray Mateo (10th grade) and Xavier (9th grade)—and our family has been part of this amazing community since kindergarten. I often describe AGLA to friends as “Sesame Street on steroids”—a vibrant, creative place where kids grow, discover who they are, tease out and learn how to use their unique strengths. This is my first year on the PTA, and I’m honored to serve as Vice President. I look forward to working with our teachers, supporting our students, and connecting with more AGLA parents as we move forward together and rediscover our rhythm after the fires in our new home.

In my free time, I enjoy gardening, sewing, hiking, and hanging out with my boys our dog, Chopper—and I’m excited to be part of helping make this a great year for our school community.

Becca Coile

Member-at-Large, Fundraising

Hi Aveson community! My name is Becca (if your kids attend ASL then they know me as Ms. Becca), and I have served on the ACO board in varying jobs over the last 4 years. This is my 11th year of being a part of this lovely community as a parent — I have a current 7th grader and 3rd grader, and this is my 3rd year of working as an instructional aide at ASL.

In my spare time you can find me reading, drinking yummy coffee and sitting on my front porch. The beach is my happy place, but I definitely don’t get there often enough. I love planning events and could definitely use some help planning all of our awesome fundraisers this year!

Erin Hearne Williams

Member-at-Large, Families Helping Families (on leave)

Erin is the founder of Families Helping Families, Aveson's mutual aid program, which cares for families when they're going through hard times. After the Eaton Fire, Erin was the guiding force behind the ACO's relief efforts, centering our families with clarity and care in the middle of a crisis. She has two lovely kids, including an Aveson alum and a current 5th grader. Her GIF game is unparalleled.

By day, Erin is a creative director for special events of all kinds. She is on leave at the moment, but please e-mail the ACO at aco@aveson.org if you have Families Helping Families questions, and we'll be in touch.

Rosie Dewbre

Member-at-Large

Hello, friends! I’m Rosie; this is my first year serving on the ASL board as a member at large - though I’ve inserted myself into plenty of activities that support the ACO and our incredible advisors - since our family started at ASL. I have a 5th and 3rd grader to keep me on my tipsy toes in the process.

I enjoy nature and being outdoors. Hiking, camping, and rockhounding are a few of my top favorite things to do.

I adore this community and I am looking forward to another great year!
